Junior and Senior High Sunday School and Confirmation (6th through 12th grades)
St. Alban’s has a team of talented adults who offer their gifts and talents of teaching and serving as role models to our older parish youth. Our junior and senior high youth are divided into three classes
6th, 7th and 8th grade 9th grade class geared toward the rite of Confirmation, and 10th , 11th and 12th grade
Each class has a curriculum geared toward the target ages. Classes may involve mission work outside the church or just lively discussion about issues affecting teens in today’s fast-paced and often confusing world.
Junior High (Grades 6, 7 & 8): The junior high curriculum focuses on helping youth enter their teen-age years and prepare for their high school years using individuals from Biblical stories as examples for living today. Confirmation (9th Grade): The 9th Grade class is our preparation for Confirmation class. The school year begins and ends with a media-rich curriculum to engage the youth and guide their conversations about real-life issues, spirituality and God’s call to each of us. In late January and February the course switches gears and focuses on church history, the Book of Common Prayer, and other topics commonly taught in Confirmation class.
Senior High (Grades 10, 11 & 12): This class uses a unique curriculum that engages youth with one of the readings being heard in church each Sunday through group discussion, activities, and popular music and video clips that encourage the participants to discover that God, Christ, the Bible and one's faith and values are all real and relevant to their lives.
